We are seeking an Aquatics Project Manager to lead and grow the construction team, ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of pool construction projects, standardize seasonal operations (summerization/winterization), maintain commercial client relationships, and report program metrics to leadership. This role will report to the Owners in a hybrid work setting in our Flushing, NY office, with significant field responsibilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • People leadership: recruit, train, schedule, and mentor 3-4 technicians; conduct performance reviews.
  • Project management: manage project estimates, timelines, vendor engagement, resource allocation and subcontractor coordination.
  • Repair and install filtration systems, repair and install swimming pool pumps and motors, install PVC plumbing and fix leaks, install automated chemical controllers, etc.
  • Technical execution: supervise all phases of pool construction (excavation, shell, plumbing, finishes), troubleshoot field issues, and ensure compliance with codes.
  • Seasonal operations: plan and execute annual summarization and winterization programs; create SOPs and checklists.
  • Compliance & safety: ensure all work meets regulatory standards; maintain permits, inspection records, and ensure staff safety training.
  • Reporting: provide weekly status reports, project margin tracking, and capital/repair forecasts to leadership.
  • Travel to various worksites as required to support project needs

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 7+ years pool construction experience (commercial projects required).
  • Demonstrated team leadership (managing 3-4 FTEs).
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) strongly preferred; able to obtain within 90 days if not currently certified.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes (e.g., building codes, NSF/ANSI standards for commercial pools) and permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems; preferred license or verified experience working with licensed plumbers.
  • Strong written/verbal communication; experience preparing leadership briefings and weekly project reports.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation; basic computer proficiency (Excel, scheduling software, email).
