Job description

Summary: The Shelf Stocker is responsible for maintaining fully stocked, clean, and well-organized merchandisedisplays throughout the commissary. This position ensures shelves, coolers, and storage areas are replenished in a timely and accurate manner, with products faced, rotated, and presented accordingto DeCA standards. The Shelf Stocker supports overall store readiness by maintaining a neat, orderlyappearance and ensuring customers have consistent access to available products.

Location: Imperial Beach Commissary

Position: Part-Time Night Stocker

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Start Time: 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Hours: Vary based on daily production needs. Candidates must be flexible with their end time.

Responsabilities:

  • Obtain and utilize all equipment, including safety equipment, necessary to complete task, i.e.;cutter, blades, feather duster, apron, etc. in order to meet safety standards.
  • Receives merchandise from the government to be staged.
  • Prepare merchandise to be placed on shelves, in order to increase efficiency during stocking of merchandise.
  • Stock all items that will fit on shelf according to the standards of that particular commodity in order to maintain a complete supply of items accessible to customers.
  • Display, block, straighten and clean all merchandise as well as shelf area in order to maintain a presentable appearance.
  • Rotate specified merchandise to ensure that the oldest date codes are in the front of the shelf area (First In - First Out).
  • Remove all damaged and hazardous commodities in order to maintain safety standards.
  • Breakdown and remove cardboard and trash in order to keep the stocking area clean of debris.
  • Dump all contractor-generated cardboard.
  • As needed, sorts and segregates merchandise in accordance with established plans and procedures.
  • As needed, consolidates merchandise and restores after shelf stocking evolution.
  • Other duties may be assigned to support commissary operations.
