Job Title

Lift Truck Operator | Rugs

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for an Lift Truck Operator on 3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday 11:00pm-7:00am). This position will be responsible for moving raw materials, waste, finished goods and other items needed to support the rug department. This position requires certification with 12' pole, squeeze and fork attachments.

This position will be responsible for moving raw materials, waste, finished goods and other items needed to support the rug department. This position requires certification with 12' pole, squeeze and fork attachments.

Essential Duties:

· Pick up finished goods from packout, scan and load onto trailers for shipping

· Unload trailers holding raw materials, carpet rolls, backing, and other items

· Pick up waste materials and dispose of them properly

· Weigh waste and key into MRM system

· Retrieve and relocate yarn cases

· Load and cut rug cores in staging areas

· Print rug identification labels and iron onto the back of each rug

· Work in the packout area to package rugs for shipping

· Load finished rugs into carts for shipping

· Operate computer using USF2 system

· Work on R&D projects as needed to support the department

· Perform job duties inside and outside of the Rugs Department as needed to support plant operations

Non-Essential Duties:

· General housekeeping duties

· Communication well with management to address departmental needs

· Maintain the integrity and security of an array of sensitive and technical tools

· Perform job duties in a safe manner

· Work night, weekends and holidays when required to meet customer orders

· Actively participate in various committees

Experience:

· Must have good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

· Previous experience operating powered industrial machinery preferred

Requirements:

· LTO certification required

· Ability to operator computer

· Must have adequate depth perception

· Must be able to work independently, without close supervisor

· Mount and dismount from lift truck repeatedly throughout the day

· Expected to be able to lift up to 50 pounds
