Renesas is seeking a Staff Business Planning Specialist to support our fast-growing Performance Computing Power business. Serving as the central pivot between Sales, Operations, NPI, Marketing, and Finance, you will manage day-to-day planning activities to optimize revenue, maximize margins, and drive customer satisfaction across assigned product lines.

This role directly supports the high-demand AI infrastructure market, requiring sharp supply planning instincts and strong customer support acumen. You will own the end-to-end supply chain planning lifecycle-from wafer start to finished goods-driving forecast improvements, proactively mitigating supply risks, and resolving customer escalations. In this fast-paced position, your execution will directly ensure that product availability keeps pace with the intense, next-generation compute demands of our customers.

Job Description

What You Will Do

Demand Planning, Revenue & Forecasting

  • Revenue Goals: Ensure management revenue goals are achieved each quarter through close communication with the Product Line Manager and Sales.
  • Forecast Ownership: Own the monthly revenue forecast, accounting for demand, supply, projected orders, and financial adjustments.
  • Capacity Planning: Generate and enter ship demand/build plan forecasts into the forecasting database for supply chain and operations capacity planning.
  • Strategic Planning: Support the business unit in building bottom-up forecasts for Annual, Mid-Term, and Long-Term Operating Plans (AOP/MTP/LTP).
  • Financial Alignment: Partner with Finance and Revenue Accounting to manage margin, pricing, and quarterly accruals. Collaborate with Tactical Marketing to ensure quoted pricing aligns with revenue plans.

Supply & Escalation Management

  • Issue Resolution: Resolve escalations and manage product allocations in coordination with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Planning.
  • Backlog Reviews: Own weekly backlog-versus-shipment reviews; proactively identify supply gaps or constraints before they impact customers or cause revenue plan issues.
  • Risk Mitigation: Manage monthly demand/supply plan reviews to mitigate revenue and customer support risks within the planning horizon.
  • Factory Execution: Determine wafer start requirements for all products in the line and work with Planning to ensure timely wafer order placement.
  • Material Planning: Collaborate with Product Line Managers and Marketing to review medium-to-long term plans to ensure material is planned in support of Product Line revenue goals.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Inventory Management: Manage channel inventory weeks, owned days of inventory, and excess/obsolete inventory in line with corporate guidance.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Own daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of demand, supply, historical data, and competitive factors, making strategic recommendations to management.
  • Leadership Presentations: Prepare and present monthly product line status updates to Product Line Management for senior leadership reviews.
  • Channel Alignment: Analyze monthly sales and product line forecasts to ensure alignment, collaborating with distributors and sales to book orders based on lead times.
  • Detail Forecasting: Build and maintain bottoms-up short- and long-term demand forecasts at the detail level alongside product line marketing.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Supply Chain Mastery: Demonstrated track record of managing complex forecasting through OEM, CM, and Distributor channels.
  • Technical Skills: Data analysis experience with advanced/expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, people management, and influencing skills with the ability to solve complex problems and navigate working relationships.
  • Education: BS degree required with 8 years of business experience within the semiconductor industry, specifically in supply chain planning, forecasting, analysis, and management support, or a master's degree with 6 years of experience.

  • Market Knowledge: Experience with Cloud Provider/Server Market planning is highly preferred.
  • Work Style: Self-starter with a positive attitude, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
