Process Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE and actively promote a safe work culture.
  • Prepare production lines and equipment for daily operations, ensuring all parameters are correctly set according to job specifications.
  • Monitor production processes to maintain consistency, identify deviations, and make necessary adjustments to uphold product quality.
  • Respond to and perform technical troubleshooting on production, automation equipment and processes to minimize downtime.
  • Set up, operate and monitor glass production, finishing, and automation equipment to meet required standards for accuracy, appearance, and structural integrity of glass products.
  • Monitor production processes, identify inefficiencies or quality concerns, and implement corrective actions.
  • Adjust, calibrate, and maintain production and automation equipment to ensure optimal performance and product consistency.
  • Document setup procedures, adjustments, and any process changes to support traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Perform basic in-process and end of shift maintenance tasks to ensure proper operational capability of production and automation equipment.
  • Support routine maintenance efforts and report equipment concerns appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Measure and mix raw materials to create specific chemical mixtures according to formulas and batch sheets.
  • Read, interpret, and execute production orders, process instructions, and machine parameter settings.
  • Conduct quality inspections of raw materials and finished products to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance technical capabilities.
  • Manage production documentation, including creation and closure of work orders in ERP systems.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve issues.
  • Calculate basic mathematical US standard to metric unit conversions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Glass Production Process Tech Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-year technical degree or certifications, such as industrial machinery technology, manufacturing technology, industrial electronics, industrial automation, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly line environment.
  • Minimum 2 years operating complex production and/or automation equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in HMI touch screen control systems, automation, or precision manufacturing including machine set-up.
  • Experience operating printing presses or similar machinery is beneficial.
  • Experience in an ISO, FDA, or GMP registered facility is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in English.
  • Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting production paperwork, labels, and computer files.
  • Ability read, measure, and adjust high precision gauging equipment, dials, and displays.
  • Use of measuring devices including rulers, tape measures, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, precision weighing scales, and graduated cylinders.
  • Use of hand tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, screw drivers, and ratchets.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical or process issues independently.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and operate complex automation equipment.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job including but not limited to walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer.
  • Ability to periodically lift 50lbs.
  • Exposure to moderate machine noise levels.

This position pays $22.85-$28.56 DOE M-F with some weekend OT
