Job description

THOR Solutions is seeking a Platform Developer III to support NIWC Pacific in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will develop and maintain business applications, automation solutions, and data management tools that support mission-critical operations. This role requires collaboration with government and contractor personnel to deliver innovative technology solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making. An ideal candidate has significant experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate in a Navy or DoD environment. Typical Responsibilities. This position's responsibilities include (but are not limited to): * Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate solutions to support engineering and operational requirements.
* Support data transformation, reporting, and process automation initiatives across NAVWAR organizations.
* Provide support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for Power Platform applications and workflows.
* Integrate and manage data across SharePoint, Jira, and other enterprise systems to improve accessibility and consistency.
Work Location: Hybrid/local remote. A minimum of one full onsite day every week is required, as well as periodic in-person meeting attendance (e.g., all hands meetings, special events, etc.). Onsite days are based at NIWC PAC Point Loma in San Diego, CA. Additional onsite days, up to and including fully onsite, may be required at the request of the government customer. Work Schedule: This position follows the California Alternate Work Week Schedule: Monday - Thursday are 9-hour days, Fridays are alternating 8- or 0-hour days, for a total of 80-hours for every two weeks. Workday starts at 7:15am PST Mon-Thu and on working Fridays. Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Typical Pay Range: The anticipated pay for this position in the identified location(s) is $43.14/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience. Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. An otherwise strongly qualified candidate with highly relevant experience but no current security clearance may be considered. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. * In lieu of an appropriate bachelor's degree, other combinations of sufficiently relevant qualifications may be considered, including additional years of highly applicable experience, other degrees/professional training, military training, and/or professional certifications. * At least ten (10) years of recent, relevant professional experience with a focus in:
* Advanced Power BI Development: Significant expertise in Microsoft Power BI, encompassing both front-end visualization (designing intuitive, interactive displays and dashboards) and back-end architecture (e.g., Power Query, DAX, and semantic model management).
* Data Analysis & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical capability to interrogate complex datasets, proactively identify operational or data quality issues, and develop effective, sustainable fixes.
* System Integration: Experience integrating and managing data across SharePoint, Jira, and other enterprise systems.
* Excellent communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and support fast-paced operational environments. Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Data Preparation: Expertise with data shaping, cleaning, and preparing workflows, in Tableau.
* Experience supporting Department of Defense, Navy, or other government organizations is preferred.
