Senior SharePoint & Power Platform Engineer
ON-SITE TORRANCE, CA
Six month, W2 (ONLY) Contract
Rate: 65 - 75/hr - Please state what you seek.

Seeking an experienced Senior SharePoint & Power Platform Engineer to lead the design, governance, and delivery of our SharePoint Online environment and Power Platform automation. This role owns end-to-end architecture for our corporate intranet, site and permissions governance, reusable SharePoint templates, and Power Automate workflows including Teams-based approvals. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong governance instincts and the ability to translate business processes into scalable, secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint Online access management, including site permissions, permission levels, groups, sharing policies, and conditional access aligned with least-privilege principles.
  • Audit and remediate SharePoint access on a recurring basis; establish governance policies for site provisioning, ownership, and lifecycle management.
  • Design and build reusable SharePoint site templates (site scripts, site designs, PnP templates) to standardize department and project site provisioning.
  • Architect, build, and maintain the corporate SharePoint intranet, including information architecture, navigation, branding, and content publishing workflows.
  • Design and develop Power Automate workflows for business process automation, including multi-stage approvals delivered through Microsoft Teams (Approvals app / adaptive cards).
  • Build and support automated workflows integrating SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 services (e.g., document approvals, onboarding, request intake).
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize existing flows and sites for performance, reliability, and error handling.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate manual processes into automated, scalable solutions.
  • Document architecture, governance standards, and standard operating procedures for SharePoint and Power Automate solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and end users on SharePoint and Power Automate best practices.
  • Stay current on Microsoft 365 roadmap changes affecting SharePoint, Power Automate, and Teams, and assess their impact on existing solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and developing on SharePoint Online, including permissions/access management and site architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience building Power Automate workflows, including approval flows integrated with Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint permission structures, groups, sharing links, and security best practices.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying SharePoint site templates (site scripts/site designs, PnP Provisioning, or similar).
  • Experience designing and building intranet sites in SharePoint Online (communication sites, hub sites, navigation, and content governance).
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive) and how it integrates with SharePoint and Power Automate.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize flow performance and resolve failures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PnP PowerShell or PnP.js for SharePoint provisioning and automation.
  • Familiarity with Power Apps for building companion forms/interfaces to Power Automate workflows.
  • Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview / Information Governance and records management in SharePoint.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MS-721, or PL-500.

The estimated pay range for this position is USD $65.00/hr - USD $75.00/hr.
