Job description

This position will offer a Civil Engineer the opportunity to take responsibility of exciting projects and to grow proficient with designing, preparing plans, cost estimating, and permitting infrastructure projects that improve the communities in which we live, work and play. Erdman Anthony's engineers are client facing and will interact with other Erdman Anthony staff, team members from other firms, permit officials, and client representatives.

This position is in our West Palm Beach, FL location where the selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for clients such as the State of Florida (SFWMD, FDOT, etc.), municipalities (West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Royal Palm Beach, etc.), and private developers allowing for a mastery of a range of career building skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Civil Engineering project design (water and force mains, gravity sewer, lift stations, roadways, grading, pavement design, drainage systems, surface water management, earthwork, etc.)
  • Production of construction plans in AutoCAD
  • Preparing and processing permit applications (SFWMD, FDEP, FDOT, Municipal, Utility departments, etc.)
  • Project Management
  • Communicate with supervisory staff and peers
  • Client Interaction
  • Field work including site visits and design reconnaissance
  • Responsible for completing quality work in a timely manner and following precepts of Erdman Anthony Civil design standards and business management manual

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 5-10 years of professional experience
  • EI Certification with ability to obtain FL PE within a year
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including proposal and report writing
  • AutoCAD Experience desired
  • Experience with Civil 3D desired
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering environment specific to utility stormwater management, land development, and/or highway design
  • Experience with Florida Permitting (SFWMD, FDEP utility permits, NPDES, FDOT, etc.) experience a plus
