Responsibilities:

  • Research,develop,anddeliverengagingcoursecontentforateachingloadof 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester(typically four on-campus courses).
  • Teachtwoonlinecoursespersemester.
  • AdviseTheologyandReligionmajorsandminors.
  • Maintainaminimumof 810officehoursperweektoadvise,guide,andmentor students, with particular attention to assigned advisees.
  • Communicate with the Department Chair about expectations and duties. CoordinatethePastoralInternshipProgramandprovidepastoralmentorshipto participating students throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Organize and oversee the Field School of Evangelismfor every summer term (typically 5 weeks) in conjunction with the Union and the 5 Union Conferences. Beanactivememberingoodstandingofthe Seventh-dayAdventistChurchand demonstrate a strong commitment to Adventist Beliefs, Mission, Lifestyle, and Christian education.

Departmental responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising and mentoring students.
  • Collaborating with the Religion faculty on curriculum and program development.
  • Participating in departmental, institutional, and university service activities as assigned.

Required Experience

Must have strongly expressed a commitment to JesusChrist, theteachingsandmission ofthe Seventh-dayAdventist Church,beamemberoftheSeventh-dayAdventistchurch ingoodand regularstanding, andhave adesiretoserve inacooperative, spiritually redemptive, andsoul-winning atmosphere.

MinimumQualifications

The successfulcandidate must be an ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a minimum of eight (8) years of ministerial experience within the denomination. Candidates should demonstrate a humble, teachable spirit and a commitmenttomentoringandworkingpatientlyanddiligentlywithadultandyoung adult students.

Applicants must hold, at minimum, a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from an accreditedinstitutionorbeactivelypursuingaDMindegree.ADoctorofMinistry (DMin) degreeispreferred.However,candidateswhohaveacomparabledoctoral-levelministry program are also encouraged to apply.

PreferredExperienceandResponsibilities

Theindividualselectedforthisposition willteachcoursesandleadprogramsdesignedto preparethenextgenerationofministersfortheSeventh-dayAdventistChurch.Theideal candidate will demonstrate experience and expertise in the areas of:

  • Homiletics (Preaching)
  • Seventh-day Adventist Church structure, governance, leadership, and organization.

The successful candidate should have a passion for ministerial education, spiritual formation,andleadership development,withtheabilitytoeffectivelyequipstudentsfor pastoral ministry within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

  • Demonstrate strong biblical preaching skills and the ability to effectively teach and mentor students.

WorkConditions & Environment:

Occasional:Evening or weekend responsibilities for events, recruitment activities, committeeassignments.Limitedtravelmayberequiredforprofessional development, conferences, or university-related functions

Environment:Officeandclassroom setting withregularinteractionwithstudents,faculty,and staff

WorkHours:Standarduniversitybusinesshours(12credithours/MondayFriday),with teaching assignments. Additional hours may be required for meetings, grading, and service responsibilities (8-10 office hours per week).

Physical Requirements:Must beabletoliftandcarryupto20lbs.andperformphysicaltasks such as sitting, walking, typing, and standing for extended periods.
