Salary Range: $20.00 To $30.00 Hourly

Pay: $20 to 30 an hour. Pay is dependent on experience and skill set. The amount is not inclusive of the total compensation package.

What can you expect as a die setter on a typical shift at ACEMCO?
You will be working as an experienced Die Setter in the set-up and operations of the power press to manufacture metal products by performing the following responsibilities. As a die setter, you will perform a variety of operations including but not limited to:
  • Maintains production tooling, as well as the pulling and setting up of jobs in production presses.
  • Completes set-up responsibility (i.e., new die set-up information).
  • Responsible for pre-staging of all set-ups (tools, dies, chutes, clamping required, transfer fingers, grippers, Julian dates).
  • Load coils onto the mandrel and feed through the straightener and into the die.
  • Assist team members when coils need re-banding and taken off press.
  • Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments.
  • Initiate and sustain 5S opportunities.
  • Supply tool room with necessary dies.
  • Organize die and coil storage area.
  • Responsible for additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the supervisor.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Related Die Setter experience in a stamping facility.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Other Qualifications
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Perform the job safely while adhering to company safety standards.
  • Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Proficient with some toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.)
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and use all quality measurement tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical comparator, etc.) with proficiency.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection is required and supplied. Eye protection (safety glasses) is required and supplied. You are required to purchase and wear steel-toe safety shoes or boots.

Shift Hours:
1st shift- 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
3rd shift – 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.
Monday – Friday with occasional overtime to be expected on Saturdays and Sundays.
