Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday / 11am - 8pm

Summary:

Under the guidance of the Prevention of Sexual Abuse (PSA) Compliance Manager, the Security Monitor is primarily responsible for the review of camera footage and day-to-day interactions between staff and child, child and child, and staff and staff. The Security Monitor is continuously observing interactions and routines to find deviations in routines and/or policies and procedures. The Security Monitor will alert program management to high-risk situations and help identify ways to mitigate risk based on observations. The Security Monitor has no supervisory responsibilities and reports directly to the PSA Compliance Manager.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

• *Monitoring camera footage daily.
• *Conducting walk-throughs of the program buildings to observe interactions of children and staff.
• *Assisting with incident management (i.e. directing emergency care services, downloading and saving video footage, etc.)
• * Running daily security check point system reports and identifying trends and patterns as well as deviations.
• * Documenting shift activity in a daily report submitted to PSA Compliance Manager, Assistant Program Director, and Program Director
• Critical Action Items:  The Security Monitor under the general direction of the Program Director (or designee), assists the Program Director in establishing and directing overall operation of facility's programs which promote best practices and      facilitate the optimum delivery of quality social services to residents. This position is also responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels at the facility to ensure each child's physical, social, emotional, educational, and recreational needs are met.
• Completing security checks of windows, doors, and gates. 
• Completing daily and weekly logs of monitoring activities. 
• Completing camera functionality checks, troubleshooting cameras, and working with IT to address more complex or system wide issues. 
• Documenting and elevating security incidents, breaches, and/or suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.  
• Deliver client services and all daily interactions within the Sanctuary Model framework.
• As a Seton Home employee, attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position. The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency.

• Adhering to safety training and protocols daily and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, and others.
• Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

• Other duties as assigned by Program Director, Senior Director of Emergency Services or Vice-President of Programs.

Likewise, at Seton Home's sole discretion, and with written approval of the Department Head of Human Resources and Executive Director, employees may arrange an alternate or flexible work schedule, provided Seton Home needs can be fully met under such an arrangement.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Education
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent; 
• Experience
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with children in a child welfare setting;  experience working with compliance, best practices and minimum standard preferred.
  • Sanctuary Model experience preferred;
• License and Credentials

• Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform      essential duties and responsibilities 
• Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children; 
  • Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection. 
  • MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases
  • DTaP or DTap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one DTaP dose in adulthood.
  • Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.

 Minimum Knowledge and Skills: 

• *Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel) and a variety of online database systems, managing files and records, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology.
• Strong analytical and organization skills and abilities. 
• Experience working with surveillance equipment, CCTV, and/or camera video monitoring systems.
• Must be able to read and interpret policy, procedures and standards.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and
• Must be able to remain calm and composed in crisis situations.

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local and 10% overnight.
