Get to Know Your Team:
  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional, and quality patient care in the performance of all diagnostic x-ray examinations and transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
  • Explains diagnostic x-ray procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.
  • Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations to include routine, fluoroscopic, portable and surgical procedures.
  • Ascertains appropriate radiographic parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning, etc.) are utilized, providing physician with a quality radiographic image.
  • Documents digital image with appropriate radiographic identification markers.
  • Provides minimal nursing care to patient, ascertaining the patient is comfortable in the department. Seeks additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary.
  • Enters and retrieves patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System in a proficient manner.
  • Prepares and maintains department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information.
  • Adheres to appropriate radiation safety, practicing the concept of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
  • Ascertains that Joint Commission, local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies' requirements are met.
  • Performs quality control on equipment and notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or a graduate of a military Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program as indicated on DD Form 214.
  • Current ARRT (R) certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current MRT license - Medical Radiologic Technologist certification issued by the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Previous employment as a Radiology Technologist.
