Nursing Services Manager (RN) to serve our clients with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule:  M-F, 40 hours

Salary:  $78,500- $92,000 Depending on Experience

Qualifications

Education: 

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required 

Credentials: 

Valid NYS Dep of Education Registered Professional Nurse License required

Experience: 

One year minimum experience managing and supervising Nursing Services within an OPWDD program. Five years of experience providing Nursing services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred. 


About the role: 

Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all Nursing staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment. Provides medical services to all individuals receiving health care within CCFCS programs. Works collaboratively with patients and staff, a range of other providers and natural supports to facilitate client health and wellness stability.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive health care of patients
    • Identifies immediate and long-term health care needs.
    • Makes appropriate referrals and recommendations based on findings of the health assessments.
    • Assists clients in identifying local resources.
    • Communicates and collaborates with appropriate Agency staff, Primary Health care providers, community justice agencies,       and related community organizations to assure coordination of client care and services. 
    • Provides oversight & training to RNs ensuring that documentation is complete and accurate
  • Facilitate and provide training, oversight, and supervision of all IDD Nursing staff. 
    • Provide training, resources, and support to the RN's.
    • Attends case conferences as needed. 
    • Collaborates with RNs to ensure cross coverage of Nursing staff agency wide
    • Resolves medication related issues
  • Meets regularly with the Vice President of IDD Services
  • Attends Incident Review Committee, reviews incident reports as needed and responds with appropriate staff re-education or training. 
  • Directs and facilitates Medication Training to all IDD staff per policy
  • Utilizes benchmark data outcomes and QA reports to maintain a cost effective, dynamic, and high-quality healthcare delivery program 
    • Monitors staff medication training and certification status utilizing Medication Compliance tracker
    • Provides required oversight & follow-up for corrective Action Plans.
  • Participates in staff meetings and clinical supervision as directed
  • Operationalizes CCFCS initiatives within the Nursing Team 
  • Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings 
  • Attends the monthly All Managers staff meeting 
  • Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops. 
  • Awareness of and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse.
  • Other responsibilities as requested by supervisor
