Position Summary


BFC Solutions is looking for a dependable, safety-minded Service Technician to support our local and nationwide retail and corporate customers. This field-based role completes scheduled filter service and related maintenance tasks at assigned customer locations, helping customer facilities operate safely and efficiently. Service Technicians represent BFC Solutions on site, so reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail are critical. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, route-based service, and working independently while staying connected to a supportive operations team. This role may include overnight travel within the region up to three weeks (Monday night through Thursday night) every month.

What You Will Do

Route Service & Field Execution

  • Follow assigned daily and weekly route schedules; arrive on time and complete services within expected service windows.
  • Perform scheduled filter service and related maintenance tasks, including removing and replacing filters, cleaning housings, inspecting units, checking airflow and fit, and verifying proper operation.
  • Load, unload, and organize filters, tools, and supplies; maintain accurate inventory and return or transfer materials as required.
  • Provide route coverage and support for other territories as needed, including occasional overnight travel.

Customer Service & Site Requirements

  • Service industrial and retail customer sites professionally, respectfully, and in accordance with customer-specific site requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with customer contacts, protect customer property, and leave work areas clean and orderly.
  • Identify and communicate service issues, equipment concerns, and customer needs to the Regional Service Manager and appropriate internal partners.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety rules, job hazard analyses (JHAs/JSAs), and customer site requirements.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely, maintain an acceptable driving record, complete required vehicle checks, and report vehicle issues promptly.
  • Escalate safety incidents, near-misses, customer complaints, and quality concerns immediately; participate in investigations and corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order; inspect, calibrate, and request replacements or repairs as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening, drug/alcohol testing, and any customer-required screenings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, read basic work instructions, and follow standard procedures.
  • Comfort using mobile applications and handheld devices to document work.
  • Strong customer service skills, reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet the essential physical, travel, and schedule requirements of the role, including lifting and moving up to 50 lbs., daily territory travel, and occasional overnight travel or overtime.

Preferred

  • 1+ year of experience in field service, installation, maintenance, route-based service, or a similar customer-facing role preferred.
  • Experience working in industrial, commercial, or other controlled-access customer environments preferred.
  • Experience performing filter service, preventive maintenance, or related HVAC/refrigeration support tasks preferred.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Must meet OSHA ladder safety standards and not exceed weight limit of 275 pounds
  • Field-based role performed at customer locations, including industrial, commercial, and school environments, and in between stops.
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, noise, moving equipment, and cleaning or maintenance materials.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting while driving, handling/gripping, bending, and reaching; occasional climbing, crawling, kneeling/squatting, and pushing/pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting techniques.
  • PPE is required frequently and may include gloves, safety harness, hearing protection, eye protection, safety footwear, and respirators when required by task or site.
  • Work schedule is full-time and route-based; early starts, overtime, evenings, or weekends may be required based on customer needs and business demands.
