Description

The Role

This is a player-coach leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operation of our service and repair shop. You'll lead a team of technicians and machinists while helping troubleshoot difficult repairs, reviewing tear-downs, supporting rebuild work, and ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to OEM standards. The shop supports the repair and rebuild of industrial and municipal pumps, rotating equipment, and related components, along with in-house manual machining capabilities. You'll be responsible for setting priorities, managing workflow, supporting the team, and maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and execution.

This role works closely with our Repair Coordinators (RC), Repair Engineers (RE), Sales Support Specialists (SSS), and Sales Engineers, who handle much of the quoting, documentation, and administrative side of the business. Your focus is on leadership, coaching, repair execution, quality, and keeping the operation running smoothly.

About Hudson Pump & Tencarva

Hudson Pump & Equipment has been serving customers throughout Florida since 1979 and provides pumps, fluid process equipment, repair services, and engineered solutions through locations in Lakeland, Jacksonville, and West Palm Beach.

Hudson is part of Tencarva, one of the largest and most respected distributors and OEM-authorized service networks in the pump and process equipment industry. Together, Hudson and Tencarva provide equipment distribution, applications engineering, OEM-authorized repair, field service, automation and controls, and custom fabrication for industrial and municipal customers.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Run the day-to-day shop operation, including pump rebuilds, rotating equipment repair, and machining work
  • Lead the team and hold the standard in the shop - quality, pace, and accountability
  • Set priorities and manage repair schedules, shop workload, and throughput
  • Review tear-downs, repair plans, and completed work to ensure jobs are done correctly
  • Step in on tougher jobs when needed to support troubleshooting and rebuild work
  • Work closely with internal teams (RC, RE, SSS, and Sales Engineer) to ensure repair scopes, parts, and timelines are aligned
  • When necessary, communicate directly with customers on job status, timelines, issues, etc.
  • Partner with internal teams to coordinate parts, outside services, and vendors as needed to keep jobs moving
  • Keep the shop organized, efficient, and running on schedule
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and clean working environment

Why Join Hudson / Tencarva

  • Hudson has a very strong reputation in the Florida region (over 45 years in business)
  • Tencarva is one of the largest and most respected distributors and OEM-authorized service networks in the pump industry
  • Stable, growing company with long-term ownership mindset and no history of layoffs
  • Annual incentive program
  • Quarterly shop performance incentives
  • Customer-oriented business; emphasis on quality/craftsmanship, reliability, safety, and ethics
  • Realistic workloads and expectations - not a high-pressure production shop

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) with profit sharing, and paid time off.

Leadership & Shop Operations

  • Experience leading or supervising repair technicians and/or machinists
