Job description

Title: Intern - Information Technology
Status: Temporary Seasonal Role (August - December)
Hourly Wage: $15.00

Schedule:
This role will be scheduled for approximately 20-25 hour per week. Regular hours of operations are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm. Occasional late hours on Monday and Wednesdays needed. Some Weekend hours required based on business needs. The schedule offers some flexibility depending on needs. Number of hours are not guaranteed.

As an Information Technology Intern, you will gain valuable on-the-job experience in entry level IT operations.
Example of Duties:
  • Deploy and troubleshoot mobile devices
  • Operate A/V equipment
  • Provide Tier I help desk support for city staff
  • Install and maintain personal computers, related peripheral equipment, computer operating systems and application software
  • Track and report support calls
  • Provide preventative maintenance
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business with a specialization in computer science or closely related discipline or be pursuing a Microsoft certification through an accredited training facility;
  • Must have experience with MS Windows operating systems, iOS and knowledge of MS Office;
  • This role places a strong emphasis on customer service and communication skills, teamwork, reliability, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude;
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends;
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle which includes at least 3 years of driving experience not including permit time.
