Job description

Truck Country is seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Service Manager to help lead our service department operations. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality repairs, exceptional customer service, and a safe, efficient work environment. You'll partner closely with the Service Manager to support technicians, drive performance, and keep operations running smoothly.
What You'll Do
  • Support day-to-day service operations and step in as a leader when needed (including after-hours/on-call support)
  • Coach, mentor, and hold technicians and service staff accountable for performance and procedures
  • Resolve customer concerns and manage high-priority repair follow-ups
  • Oversee technician efficiency, training, and development
  • Assist with hiring and performance management of service team members
  • Manage repair authorizations and monitor workflow
  • Track and address comebacks, ensuring quality control
  • Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards
  • Oversee shop equipment, tooling, and facility-related needs
  • Support budgeting efforts and monitor department expenses
  • Handle administrative duties including scheduling, time-off approvals, and service-related A/R follow-up
