Title and Summary

Manager, Payroll M&A IntegrationPosition Overview
The Manager, Payroll Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Integration is responsible for leading all payroll-related activities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic business integrations. This role serves as the Payroll Integration Lead, partnering closely with the M&A COE, regional Payroll Operations teams, P&C, Finance, Tax, Workday Technology, and external vendors to ensure seamless employee transitions and payroll continuity throughout the M&A lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Payroll Integration Strategy & Execution
Serve as the primary payroll lead for all acquisition, divestiture, and integration activities.
Partner with regional Payroll Operations teams to define payroll operating model requirements, dependencies, and success criteria.
Coordinate payroll activities from due diligence through stabilization and operational handoff.
Ensure business continuity and uninterrupted payroll delivery during integration periods.
Payroll Operations & Systems Integration
Lead payroll workstream activities
Partner with Workday Product & Engineering team, Payroll Operations, M&A COE and external providers to ensure successful technical implementation.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure payroll integrations comply with local, state, federal, and international regulatory requirements.
Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness throughout integration activities.
Identify and mitigate payroll compliance risks associated with acquisitions and divestitures.
Continuous Improvement
Partner with M&A COE to maintain payroll integration playbooks, templates, and best practices.
Incorporate lessons learned into future integrations.
Identify opportunities to streamline integration activities and improve scalability.
Qualifications
7+ years of payroll experience with increasing responsibility.
3+ years of project, program, or M&A integration management experience.
Deep knowledge of multi-country payroll operations, compliance, and controls.
Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms (Workday, ADP, Oracle, or similar).
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
Experience leading payroll integrations during acquisitions or divestitures.
Experience working in a shared services or global business services organization.
