About This Role:

The Integration and Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing system integrations and automated workflows across Accra’s enterprise application ecosystem. This role ensures reliable data movement, system interoperability, and scalable automation that supports business operations and strategic initiatives. The Integration and Automation Engineer will collaborate closely with IT, business analysts, vendors, and operational stakeholders to deliver secure, efficient, and maintainable automations and integrations that improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and enhance system reliability across the organization.


What You Will Do:

Integration Development & Management:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support integrations between enterprise systems, internal applications, and external partners.
  • Build and maintain reusable integration patterns, connectors, and automation components to improve scalability and consistency.
  • Monitor integration performance, data flow, and error handling to ensure reliability and timely resolution of issues.

Automation & Workflow Enablement:

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual or repetitive business processes using integration and automation technologies including artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Design and implement automated workflows and data pipelines that improve efficiency, data accuracy, and operational consistency.
  • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure automation solutions align with business requirements and outcomes.

Application & Platform Support:

  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in assigned integration platforms and related enterprise systems, staying current with vendor updates and best practices.
  • Support integrations involving financial, CRM, HR, and operational systems used throughout Accra.
  • Provide higher-level support for complex integration-related incidents and service desk escalations.

Data Quality & Security:

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across integrated systems.
  • Implement secure integration practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging.
  • Develop and maintain Master Data Management (MDM) practices within appropriate platforms.
  • Adhere to organizational, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to data handling and system access, including HIPAA and NIST related requirements.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for integrations, data flows, automation logic, and operational procedures.
  • Develop diagrams and artifacts that clearly communicate integration architectures and dependencies.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with IT team members to improve overall integration maturity.

Project Collaboration:

  • Participate in project planning, design reviews, and implementation activities for initiatives requiring system integration or automation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure integrations are delivered on time and meet defined requirements.
  • Provide technical input on integration strategy, standards, and roadmap planning.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting system integrations and automation solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with integration platforms and middleware (e.g., Boomi, Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP), file-based integrations, data transformation, and message-based architectures.
  • Experience working with cloud-based services (AWS and Azure preferred), including security configuration, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Must have a proficiency in scripting or programming languages commonly used for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, C#, or similar).
  • Demonstrable high degree of proficiency in performant data query development, particularly SQL compatible syntax with an ability to create efficient and high-performing queries.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management principles and concepts.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex integration issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple integrations and priorities simultaneously.
