JOB TITLE: Service Center Manager

DEPARTMENT: Operations

JOB STATUS: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$100,000/year (Based on experience and knowledge of the Transportation industry)

REPORTS TO: Director of Regional Operations

JOB SUMMARY

CCFS is looking for a Service Center Manager. You will have the challenging role of directing a team with a common goal of providing the highest level of customer satisfaction and delivering goods to clients on time. Your efforts to streamline processes and improve efficiency will be valued and you will be generously compensated for your time, effort, and innovative ideas.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

  • Assists with planning, implementing and overseeing the work of staff members to ensure efficiency and compliance 
  • Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including tracking, routing, and dispatching transportation vehicles 
  • Implement changes to transportation services, policies, or scheduling as needed 
  • Coach team members to develop talent 
  • Produce high levels of service, including on-time pickup and delivery 
  • Produce high level of productivity and optimal levels of labor spend 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in LTL operations, freight transportation, or logistics management. 
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within the transportation industry.
  • Understanding of LTL operations, including freight handling, dock operations, and linehaul processes.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and safety standards (OSHA).
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems and ability to learn/change as new software is implemented.
  • Understanding of freight classification, rating, and billing procedures.
  • Experience with route optimization and load planning.
  • Experience managing budgets and cost control
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills 
  • Effective organizational and multitasking skills 
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.  Ability to get along with diverse personalities.  
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and decision-making skills. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry. 
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
