Service Advisor Job Description:

The Service Advisor will act as the primary point of contact between service department customers, and the Dayton Andrews Service Team. The Service Advisor is responsible for facilitating the service and repair of vehicles from start to finish. They are responsible for providing an exceptional service experience to the customer in accordance with Dayton Andrews and Manufacturer guidelines.

The Service Advisor at Dayton Andrews is responsible for taking ownership of the service experience from first point of contact with the customer to the final delivery of serviced and repaired vehicles. Service Advisors act as the liaison between customer and repair technician to effectively communicate both customer and vehicle needs. A successful service advisor takes ownership of the customer experience, and creates value by offering a one stop resolution for all vehicle service needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Welcome customers into the Service Department and create service orders for repair technicians. This includes greeting customers in person, answering phone calls, e-mails and text messages from customers.

· Write repair orders using CDK dealer management software to move customer vehicles into the repair shop.

· Create estimates based on technician inspections, diagnostic conclusions, and scheduled maintenance requirements.

Required Qualifications:

· Skills

Applicants must be able to manage their time effectively with minimal supervision. They must be able to take initiative in assisting customers and commit to making exceptional customer experience their top priority. They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with workload varying in degree of difficulty day to day.

· Education
While there is no particular formal education needed to be successful in this role, it is paramount that the Service Advisor has the ability to communicate intelligently, both verbally and through written communication. Having a working understanding of vehicle mechanics is a desired qualification, but we are willing to educate the right candidate using both Dealership and Manufacturer training resources.

· Experience
Candidates must have a minimum 2+ years in a customer service position.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have experience as a service advisor in a dealership environment. They would be experienced working with manufacturer warranty repairs and recalls. Experience using CDK Dealer Management Software is a huge plus. Preferred qualifications would also include a comprehensive working knowledge of automotive mechanics. This can include recreational experience working on cars.

This is a full-time position with a working schedule of Monday – Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm, and every other Saturday from 7:00am-4:00pm
