Job Title: Service Advisor
Location: Oxnard
Department: Service Department
Reports To: Service Manager
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary

The Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department at our dual International and Isuzu Truck Dealership. This role is responsible for scheduling service work, initiating work orders, maintaining communication with customers regarding repair status, and estimating costs. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while maximizing service sales and technician productivity across both medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle lines.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Communication

• Greet customers promptly and professionally in person and over the phone.
• Act as the primary contact for customers throughout the entire repair process.
• Provide regular updates to customers regarding repair status and completion times.
• Explain repair estimates, diagnostics, and necessary maintenance to customers clearly.

Service Operations

• Open and close repair orders (RO's) accurately within our CDK Dealership Management System.
• Gather accurate vehicle information, including mileage, symptoms, and maintenance history.
• Translate customer descriptions of vehicle problems into clear, actionable instructions for technicians.
• Schedule service appointments to optimize shop workflow and technician efficiency.

Sales & Financials

• Promote and sell preventative maintenance services and necessary repairs to customers.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for parts and labor.
• Obtain customer authorization before any additional repair work is performed.
• Review final invoices with customers and process payments upon vehicle pickup.

Warranty & Compliance

• Identify warranty coverage and look up campaign/recall information through both International and Isuzu Truck systems.
• Ensure all documentation complies with dealership policies, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in a similar customer-facing role within the automotive or service industry.
• Experience with medium and heavy-duty trucks (specifically International Trucks, Navistar systems, or Isuzu commercial vehicles) is recommended but not required.

Skills & Knowledge

• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred to effectively serve our diverse customer base.
• Proficiency with CDK or similar dealership management systems is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn heavy-duty and medium-duty truck components.

Education & Licenses

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
