What is a server at assisted living?

Server jobs at assisted living facilities involve providing meal service to residents, ensuring a pleasant dining experience, and assisting with basic needs during meal times. Servers take residents' orders, deliver food and beverages, and may help with setting up and cleaning the dining area. They often interact closely with elderly residents, requiring patience, good communication skills, and a friendly demeanor. The role may also include following special dietary guidelines and reporting any resident concerns to supervisors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a server at assisted living?

To thrive as a Server at Assisted Living, you need a basic understanding of food safety, customer service, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, dietary management software, and safe food handling certifications are commonly required. These skills ensure residents receive respectful, attentive service while maintaining a safe and comfortable dining environment.
