Serta Simmons Bedding is seeking motivated Mattress Assemblers to join our team at our Greene, NY manufacturing plant.

In this role, you'll play a key part in the mattress production process by assembling high-quality products with precision, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble mattresses according to established work instructions using a variety of pneumatic tools, including c-ring/hog-ring guns, staple guns, and hot glue guns.
  • Perform assembly of Hot Melt Bond (HMB) units using the HMB machine.
  • Apply specified upholstered layers to HMB units, open coil units, and foam-encased pocketed coil units.
  • Complete foam encasing and final mattress assembly processes while maintaining quality and production standards.
  • Inspect mattress components and finished products for structural defects, damage, or other unacceptable flaws.
  • Previous experience working with pneumatic tools and/or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Job Factors/Work Environments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required. Also, must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand. Heavy loads must be team-lifted. Production within the range specified for the position is required to maintain integrity of make-to-order system.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions and production tickets. Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions; communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully; and work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement. Work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.

Wage & Shift Transparency:

*1st Shift : 6am- 2:30pm EST*

2nd Shift: 3:30pm -12am EST

1st Shift Base Pay: $21.00

+ $2.00/ hour second shift differential
