Citi's Equity Research team is looking for an Equity Research Senior Associate to support a senior analyst covering the Upstream Energy sector, contributing to the production of high-quality investment insights that inform decisions for institutional clients across global markets. In this role, you will work directly alongside a senior analyst to develop research publications, maintain financial models, and engage with clients and company management teams. Your contributions will strengthen the quality and independence of Citi's equity research coverage at a time when the energy sector is at the center of global investment attention.
Responsibilities
  • Support a senior equity research analyst covering the Upstream Energy sector by contributing to all aspects of the research process, from financial modeling to publication.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for Upstream Energy companies, including earnings forecasts, relative value analyses, and scenario-based frameworks.
  • Assist in authoring equity research products including earnings previews and recaps, initiation reports, and deep-dive thematic notes, to a high standard of analytical rigor and clarity.
  • Respond to client inquiries from both internal stakeholders and external investors, delivering timely and well-reasoned analytical perspectives on covered companies and sector trends.

  • Established experience working alongside senior equity research analysts, with direct exposure to the research publication lifecycle.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to institutional clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Active FINRA licenses: SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 (or commitment to obtain upon hire).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
