Job description

Job Summary (List Format) – Wifi Wireless Engineer IV
- Provide senior-level technical leadership in design, testing, certification, and deployment of advanced wireless technologies for residential and business customers.
- Lead the development and support of end-to-end wireless architectures, including customer premise equipment (CPE), access, transport, core, and backend systems.
- Evaluate, test, and certify new wireless products such as home and SMB routers, wireless access points (APs), wireless access gateways (WAGs), controllers, and small cell technologies.
- Conduct laboratory validation and field trials to verify technology concepts and product capabilities.
- Collaborate with operations teams to investigate and resolve WiFi and mobile network performance issues impacting customers.
- Drive innovation in emerging wireless technologies (e.g., Mesh networking, 802.11ad/ay, Ultra-Wideband, Broadband Network Convergence).
- Develop engineering tools, testing methodologies, and certification processes to enhance product quality and deployment readiness.
- Support initiatives related to network performance, security, virtualization, customer experience, and next-generation wireless services.
- Participate in vendor evaluations, RFP/RFI responses, product assessments, and technical contract reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in wireless engineering, technology development, or network engineering.
- Deep expertise in WiFi 5, WiFi 6, WiFi 7, and 4G LTE; familiarity with 5G technologies.
- Strong understanding of wireless network architecture, CPE platforms, wireless gateways, and router technologies.
- Experience with major MSOs, telecom providers, satellite operators, or leading wireless equipment vendors.
- Hands-on experience with wireless product testing, validation, certification, and deployment.
- Proficiency with network diagnostics/analytics platforms (Splunk, SQL, Plume, Scope).
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and network security.
- Experience troubleshooting complex wireless network and customer experience issues.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple technical initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Spectrum or large-scale cable/MSO environments.
- Knowledge of DOCSIS, broadband networking, or home networking ecosystems.
- Experience with wireless access gateways, mesh networking, or IoT platforms.
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud-native networking concepts.
- Experience in vendor selection, product evaluation, or technology roadmap planning.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required.
- MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
