Job description

Seeking a 5G System Engineer for a full-time/perm position located in Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of the 3GPP 5G specification. This role will consist of architecting, designing and assisting in the development of components and features for private 5G networks.


Please Note

  • This is an onsite position located in Colorado Springs and is not remote
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Offered salary range is $150,000 to $175,000


Responsibilities

  • Architect, design and assist with the development components and features for private 5G networks (SA)
  • Develop and optimize ORAN-based RAN solutions (O-DU, O-CU, RIC integration)
  • Work with 5G Core (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF) to integrate and optimize network functions
  • Develop methodologies for eSIM utilization and deployment
  • Build and enhance device/CPE integration frameworks for UE onboarding and management
  • Work with the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system to specify device configurations
  • Optimize network performance including latency, throughput, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across UE, RAN, and Core layers using logs and protocol analysis
  • Create documented processes and procedures 


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field
  • 5-10 years of cellular/5G development and Systems Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with ORAN and 5G SA components
  • Familiarity with 5G security architecture and authentication mechanisms
  • Knowledge of L1/L2, RRC and NAS protocols, signaling flows, and UE registration procedures
  • Exposure to RF performance metrics (RSRP, SINR, throughput optimization)
  • Experience working with UE/CPE modules (e.g., Qualcomm, Telit, Sierra Wireless)
  • Experience debugging using tools such as QXDM, Wireshark, or similar protocol analyzers
  • Knowledge of eSIM architecture (SM-DP+, SM-SR) and device provisioning
  • 5+ years working with Linux
