Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide expert level systems engineering support across the full system lifecycle for a Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program for the US Army. This role assesses complex systems, identifies problems, designs technical solutions, develops system upgrades, and collaborates across engineering, program management, vendors, and IT teams to ensure system performance, quality, and mission readiness. The Senior Systems Engineer leads the design, integration, testing, and optimization of systems while also driving continuous improvements and cost effective engineering strategies. This position is ideal for a highly specialized senior engineer with deep experience supporting Defense programs.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
Systems Assessment & Problem Resolution
. Assess system performance, identify issues, and develop corrective technical solutions
. Diagnose system deficiencies and lead troubleshooting efforts to restore optimal functionality
. Evaluate system architecture and propose modifications or modernization improvements
Systems Design, Upgrade & Maintenance
. Design new systems, system enhancements, or system architectures based on program needs
. Plan and oversee system upgrades, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption
. Maintain and optimize systems to ensure long term reliability and performance
Collaboration & Stakeholder Coordination
. Collaborate with clients, vendors, management, IT personnel, and engineering teams throughout system development

Quality Control & Standards Compliance

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Education
. MA/MS degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
. Substitution options:
- One academic year in a related accredited post secondary program may substitute for one year of experience
- BA/BS + 3 additional years of experience may substitute for the graduate degree requirement
- No degree: an additional 6 years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement

. 10+ years of systems engineering experience supporting Defense programs
. Experience assessing systems, designing solutions, performing upgrades, and conducting engineering analysis
. Experience coordinating with cross functional technical teams and stakeholders
Technical Skills
. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, system integration, and requirements analysis
