Senior Systems Administrator

Join Moneris as a Senior Systems Administrator focused on Windows Infrastructure, where you will lead the administration, modernization, and evolution of mission-critical enterprise platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. This role owns core Windows Server infrastructure, high-availability platforms, automation initiatives, and operational excellence for production systems.

You will have significant ownership over enterprise infrastructure supporting critical business operations, with opportunities to lead platform modernization, automation, and lifecycle initiatives. Working across infrastructure, engineering, application, and security teams, you'll influence architectural decisions, drive operational improvements, and strengthen the reliability and security of production environments. This role offers exposure to hybrid cloud technologies, high-availability platforms, compliance-driven environments, and advanced automation practices while providing opportunities to mentor team members and elevate technical capability across the organization.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto or Montreal office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Systems Infrastructure.

Posting Type: Replacement Position.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $106,000 - $135,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Lead Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise platform operations for production systems.

  • Drive platform currency, patching, lifecycle management, and in-place server upgrades.

  • Support Microsoft Clustering and SQL Server high-availability environments.

  • Resolve complex production incidents through root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting.

  • Develop PowerShell automation and contribute to deployment and build pipelines.

  • Maintain operational standards, runbooks, documentation, and service support processes.

  • Mentor team members and collaborate across infrastructure, engineering, application, and security teams.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in systems infrastructure administration, design, and support.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, equivalent experience, or advanced technical certifications.

  • Deep expertise supporting enterprise Windows Server production environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Clustering and SQL Server high-availability platforms.

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation experience.

  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex production infrastructure issues.

  • Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments is an asset.

  • Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management platforms is an asset.

  • Experience supporting VMware virtualization environments is an asset.

  • Familiarity with PCI DSS, CIS benchmarks, Tripwire, or payment-processing environments is an asset.

  • Experience working with MSSPs and managed security monitoring models is an asset.

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCED, SC-200, or equivalent are considered an asset.
