Microsoft.NET Web Developer

Apex is seeking a Microsoft .NET Web Developer in the information technology department. As a Microsoft.NET Web Developer, you will be part of a team providing support for the Commercial Business order management systems production environment with a focus area that includes sales order initialization, legacy order entry, and metrics reporting but can cover any of the order management areas.

Your contributions in supporting the Commercial business processes are vital as this is both a business analysis and systems support role working under minimal supervision. Daily activities will include participation and lead in the design, development, testing, and implementation of changes to web, windows, Microsoft SSIS and SSRS applications. This individual needs to be an expert in web and windows development.

Experience in the entire SDLC will be required as you will be working directly with business departments for requirements gathering and will create their own functional and technical specs and then continue with development, testing, implementation, and support. The ability to solve problems quickly will be crucial to your success. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on, collaborative environments and is willing to seize opportunities to develop themselves, especially into leadership roles.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Gather detailed business requirements to deliver changes from the business user groups.
  • Design, develop, test, & implement changes to Commercial Web and Windows applications.
  • Be the technical expert to manage the production environment for the Commercial systems.
  • Coordinate ongoing communication and support with business users.
  • Responsible for application design by having a good end to end knowledge of the business process and how the legacy applications fit together.
  • Ensure all production documentation is up to date including functional specifications and test cases.
  • Ensure all new developments conform to standards.
  • Train end users by conducting knowledge sessions and assisting with user documentation.
  • Hands on designing, specifying, configuring to moving changes to production.
  • Write functional specifications clearly and work with technical team in completing the development.
  • Provide level 2 support for production systems and project implementations, as necessary.
  • Project management including the ability to manage own work.
  • Work with the business to identify and assist in addressing change management items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Working and coordinating with other IT teams
  • Provide evidence to auditors as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience developing Web and Windows Applications
  • Extensive experience in the Microsoft Development stack: ASP.net, ASP.net Core, ASP.net Core Identity Security, MVC, SQL, C#, Bootstrap, Entity Framework, LINQ, JQuery, MS Visual Studio, JS, AJAX, TFS.
  • Excellent SQL Server skills including experience with SQL Server 2012, 2016 and 2019.
  • Deep understanding of T-SQL, complex Joins, Stored Procedures, and Triggers.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Understanding of common Object-Oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience and understanding of the full SDLC including gathering business requirements, designing solutions, and working with stakeholders to test and implement the solutions you build.
  • Experience working on large enterprise applications.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Participation in at least two enterprise development projects

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified Professional with 8+ years of web/windows development experience
