Job description

Position Summary:

Individual must have an interest in working with seniors, particularly those with a chronic conditions and health challenges. The Healthy Aging Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of 50 and Better (Senior programming) with guidance/support from the Branch Healthy Living Director. The HAC leads all aspects of senior volunteerism including recruitment of new volunteers, retention of existing volunteers and possibly supervision of volunteers. The HAC develops, plans and implements monthly engagement events to provide a social outlet to combat isolation and loneliness.

Essential Functions:
  1. Leads senior volunteer recruitment for branch; established a Healthy Aging Volunteer Committee (5-10 members).
  2. Coordinates monthly calendar of events and classes to promote an engaging environment for social interaction and physical activity to engage our paying Senior Members and those with Renew Active / SilverSneakers membership
  3. Conducts evaluations and feedback for group activities with assistance from Healthy Aging Volunteer
  4. Reports branch tracking numbers to the Metro Offices as requested
  5. Plan and execute a Monthly social events for Silver Sneaker members; minimum 8 events per
  6. Input content for monthly In-Motion Newsletter by the designated deadline
  7. Responsible for achieving budget, reach, and volunteer engagement goals
  8. Participate in HAC meetings when
  9. Build relationship with the Branch Healthy Living Director and Group Exercise Coordinator to maximize engagement.
  10. Communicate with RA and SS members by phone / email to engage them at the
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma
  2. One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator of people or
  3. Ability to use typical business software and office
  4. Understanding of special needs of Seniors within the YMCA
  5. Current CPR certifications
  6. Must possess strong communication skills
  7. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds
