Description

As a Software Engineer on the Video Applications team, you'll design and implement high-quality features that directly impact millions of creative professionals. You'll tackle complex technical challenges across our video editing applications, working with cutting-edge frameworks and technologies on both iOS and macOS. Collaborating closely with engineers across the Video Apps teams, you'll contribute to initiatives that push the boundaries of what's possible in professional video editing on Apple devices.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, implementing, and shipping features that solve complex technical challenges
  • Writing clean, well-tested code that sets the standard for quality and maintainability
  • Participating in and contributing to architecture discussions and code reviews
  • Working closely with cross-functional partners to define and implement features that delight our customers
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit
  • 5+ years of proven experience working with Objective-C
  • Strong understanding of software engineering and computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design principles, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Track record of technical excellence, exemplifying "what good looks like" in code, documentation, and engineering practices
  • Proven ability to break down large features into practical, implementable solutions
  • Experience working on large, cross-functional, multi-team projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a highly collaborative environment
  • Self-directed problem solver who can work independently and drive initiatives to completion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer focus and ability to make high-quality, user-centric product and technical decisions
  • Experience creating and refining APIs for adoption by other teams and developers
  • GENUINE PASSION FOR PROFESSIONAL CREATIVE TOOLS AND WORKFLOWS
  • Familiarity with video editing, media processing, or graphics programming!

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
