Job description

POSITION:
Senior Process Engineer
LOCATION:
Lake Charles
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Motivated Process Engineer contributing technical expertise, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery with high level of independence and ownership
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform broad range or process engineering fundamentals
  • Develop heat and material balances
  • Develop process flow diagrams
  • Develop process specifications for equipment
  • Develop hydraulic circuit pressure drop analysis
  • Develop heat integration/recovery analysis
  • Develop preliminary piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Develop and directs process unit test runs
  • Troubleshoot client processes
  • Develop process designs
  • Develop relief valve design and validation per API RP 520/521
  • Provide written process narratives and process engineering reports
  • Directly interface with clients
  • Interface with the multidiscipline detailed design group
  • Assists Sr. Estimator and Scheduler in the development of cost estimating, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Perform at or below project udget
  • Actively pursue professional engineering license (if not already licensed)

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B. S. in Chemical Engineering from accredited program
  • 8+ years of process engineering experience or operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams and clients
  • Ability to peer review and quality check engineering deliverables
  • Extensive Process Simulation experience (HYSYS, UNISYS preferred)
  • P. E. license preferred
  • Available for short-term travel

IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:
Reports to the Process Department Engineer Manager
V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
  • Ability to perform field work as required at client sites
