They are responsible for defining test strategies, managing test teams, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring all testing is completed on schedule. Senior Test Managers also analyze testing metrics, report on defects, and implement best practices to improve overall software quality. Their leadership is crucial for mitigating risks and ensuring successful project delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior test manager?

To thrive as a Senior Test Manager, you need expertise in software testing methodologies, test planning, and quality assurance, typically backed by a degree in computer science or related field and several years of testing experience. Job description

Position: Healthcare Test Architect

Location: Onsite Atlanta, GA

Duration: Contract

Practice: Quality Engineering & SDLC Intelligence

Role Summary

The Healthcare Test Architect owns the technical test strategy and automation architecture across the Elevance Health Commercial division portfolio, with emphasis on membership, enrollment, and billing platforms alongside claims and benefits systems. This is a senior, hands-on architecture role for someone who can design scalable, auditable test solutions, lead framework modernization, and bring deep healthcare payer domain fluency to a regulated, compliance-driven environment. The role blends technical architecture with client-facing advisory, translating payer complexity into defensible quality outcomes. This is a full-time onsite position based at the Elevance Health office in Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own the end-to-end test automation architecture across membership/billing, enrolment, claims, and benefits platforms, aligned to client engineering standards, HIPAA/PHI compliance, and CI/CD governance.
  • Architect scalable, reusable automation frameworks and lead modernization from legacy assets to modern platforms, with clear traceability and coverage benchmarks.
  • Design test strategy across functional, API, performance, and security layers, embedding shift-left and continuous testing across the SDLC.
  • Architect test data management and PHI masking strategies for onsite/offshore environments in line with client data-handling policies.
  • Establish quality gates, defect intelligence, and requirements-to-test traceability using industry-standard and AI-driven tooling.
  • Partner with client architects, product owners, and business stakeholders as the senior technical quality authority; act as escalation point for complex quality challenges.
  • Provide technical governance across delivery pods and mentor test leads and automation engineers.
Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years in quality engineering with 4+ years in a test architecture or lead automation architect capacity.
  • Strong healthcare payer domain experience claims, membership, enrollment, benefits, and billing systems.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise across industry-standard automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, TestNG/JUnit, Cucumber/BDD, REST Assured/Postman) and familiarity with low-code/AI-driven platforms.
  • Proven experience architecting automation at enterprise scale within regulated environments.
  • Strong grounding in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar), version control, and DevOps governance.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, ALM/Quality Center, Zephyr, qTest) and established QE metrics practices.
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Elevance Health (or Anthem/FEP) experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with RMB (Retail Markets/Membership) Billing and/or Membership & Enrollment systems, including HIPAA EDI transactions (834/820) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with platform modernization or large-scale migration programs.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted testing, self-healing automation, and SDLC-intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with PHI data masking, synthetic test data generation, and compliance-driven test governance.
  • ISTQB or equivalent certification; cloud (AWS/Azure) testing exposure; PMP/SAFe a plus.
