Job description

Senior Structural Engineer | High-Visibility Career Opportunity
Oklahoma City Area
Are you a Senior Structural Engineer who is ready to take the next step in your career?
We're looking for an experienced structural engineer who wants more than a traditional engineering role-someone who wants to become a key player in a growing organization, take on meaningful responsibility, and build a path toward Project Management.
The Opportunity
This is a high-visibility career opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer who wants meaningful responsibility, direct exposure to leadership, and a clear path toward project management.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders while having the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients, contribute to technical decisions, and develop the leadership skills needed to move into an Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager role within approximately 2-3 years.
This position offers a diverse mix of approximately:
65% Structural Design | 35% Investigative / Forensic Engineering
You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple aspects of the business rather than being limited to a narrow role.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as Structural Engineer of Record on projects
  • Perform structural analysis, calculations, and design for vertical building structures
  • Develop complete construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Provide pre-design services including data gathering, conceptual design, planning, and structural system selection
  • Coordinate structural work with architects and other design disciplines
  • Work directly with clients and help determine practical solutions
  • Manage smaller project teams and take increasing ownership of projects
  • Assist with proposals, project budgets, and project planning
  • Provide construction-phase support, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, site observations, and reports
  • Perform structural investigations, failure evaluations, and condition assessments
  • Lead or assist with on-site data collection and analytical efforts
  • Develop analytical models and written reports based on investigation findings
  • Perform peer reviews of structural engineering documents
  • Participate in quality-control reviews
  • Mentor developing engineers and serve as a technical resource
  • Contribute to process improvement and the continued growth of the organization

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is technically strong, adaptable, and interested in taking on broader responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Strong experience with structural materials, calculations, and design
  • Experience with vertical building structures
  • Comfortable performing both design and investigative work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats and thrive in different roles
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership
  • Interest in developing APM / Project Manager responsibilities
  • Must be local to the Oklahoma City area
  • Experience with Revit
  • PE/SE preferred, or ability to obtain Oklahoma licensure within a reasonable timeframe

Why This Opportunity?
Visibility. Responsibility. Growth.
This is an opportunity to have a meaningful voice in projects and work directly with experienced leadership and clients.
If you're a Senior Engineer who feels ready to move beyond simply completing assigned design work, you'll have the opportunity to expand into:
  • Client management
  • Project coordination
  • Team leadership
  • Proposal and budget development
  • Quality control
  • Investigative work
  • Mentoring
  • Project management

Culture
We value engineers who are curious, accountable, collaborative, adaptable, and willing to roll up their sleeves.
This is an environment where initiative is noticed and good ideas are heard. Team members are encouraged to take ownership, solve problems, support one another, and step outside of their traditional responsibilities when the project requires it.
If you enjoy variety, want to continue developing technically, and are interested in becoming a future project leader, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact.
Benefits & Growth
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
  • Competitive salary 75k-85k
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits - PPO & HMO
  • Retirement plan with company contribution/match
  • 12 PTO (grows to 15 at 5 years) and 7 holidays
  • Professional development and continuing education opportunities
  • Mentoring and leadership development
  • Opportunity for advancement into project management
  • Exposure to a diverse range of structural projects
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment
  • Direct access to experienced leadership
  • Reimbursement for mileage and travel
  • Life Insurance
  • HSA Plan

We look forward to your application!
