Job description

Need senior SQL-Server DBA to assist with development and implementation of SQL-Server consolidation strategy.

DBA to oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of mission-critical SQL Server environments — on-premises and in the cloud. This position requires deep expertise in SQL Server 2022, Windows Server 2022, and a proactive mindset for automation and modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize large-scale SQL Server 2022 environments (on-prem, hybrid, and cloud).
  • Ensure HA/DR (High Availability / Disaster Recovery) using Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and backups.
  • Perform advanced performance tuning, index optimization, and query plan analysis.
  • Design and execute database migrations and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and SQL Agent Jobs and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support Azure SQL, Managed Instance, and hybrid deployments as needed.
  • Collaborate with application teams to design scalable and efficient database architectures.
  • Troubleshoot escalated database issues, including blocking, deadlocks, and resource contention.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, SOPs, and recovery plans.

Some programming experience, exposure to SSIS is good to have.

NOTE: This is not an operational level position.
