Job Summary:
Clayton Services is searching for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join an established and growing technology services organization in Houston, Texas. The Senior Solutions Engineer will serve as a trusted technical advisor responsible for leading complex infrastructure initiatives, developing scalable technology solutions, and partnering with clients to modernize and secure their IT environments.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the technical lead for infrastructure projects, guiding initiatives from discovery and solution design through implementation and completion
• Evaluate business requirements and develop practical, secure, and scalable technology solutions aligned with client objectives
• Lead cloud transformation projects, including Microsoft 365 implementations, tenant consolidations, collaboration platform deployments, and infrastructure modernization initiatives
• Design and deploy server, networking, and hybrid cloud environments that support business continuity and long-term growth
• Plan and execute identity management, device management, and endpoint administration projects utilizing modern Microsoft technologies
• Develop infrastructure roadmaps, migration strategies, and implementation plans while identifying project risks and mitigation strategies
• Perform technical assessments of client environments and provide recommendations to improve performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency
• Establish and validate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures to support organizational resiliency
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, deployment plans, standards documentation, and implementation procedures
• Participate in client discovery meetings and provide technical expertise during project scoping, solution development, and proposal preparation activities
• Partner with project managers, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and exceptional client experiences
• Monitor project progress, communicate technical updates, and proactively address issues that may impact deliverables, timelines, or budgets
• Recommend process improvements and contribute to the development of technical standards, best practices, and operational procedures
• Provide support during planned maintenance activities, infrastructure upgrades, and occasional after-hours project implementations as business needs require
Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, and modern workplace technologies
• Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, endpoint management, and collaboration technologies
• Advanced understanding of server administration, virtualization platforms, networking fundamentals, and enterprise connectivity solutions
• Experience designing and implementing secure environments, including identity management, access controls, endpoint security, and data protection strategies
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate client requirements and translate business needs into practical technical solutions
• Strong project planning, estimation, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality standards
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to solve complex technical challenges
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility, establish trust, and develop long-term client relationships
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in systems engineering, infrastructure administration, or technology consulting environments
• Demonstrated success leading complex infrastructure projects involving cloud technologies, networking, server environments, and enterprise systems
Preferred:
• Previous experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP), consulting organization, or multi-client technology environment strongly preferred
• Experience participating in solution design, project estimation, technical discovery, and client-facing consulting activities preferred
• Industry certifications related to Microsoft technologies, networking, cloud platforms, or IT service management are highly desirable
• Experience supporting organizations within highly regulated industries such as healthcare, legal, financial services, or professional services environments is a plus
