Job description

Position Overview
The Cleveland Browns are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join a highly collaborative Football Information Systems team responsible for building and supporting the internal applications that power all facets of football operations. This role will play a key part in delivering high-impact solutions that directly support personnel, scouting, coaching, and research functions across the organization. The environment is fast-paced and outcome-driven, particularly during critical NFL periods such as Free Agency, The NFL Draft, and Training Camp.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist scouting, football administration, performance, strategy/analytics, and coaching departments through the continued development and maintenance of a centralized player evaluation and football management system
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code using modern Microsoft technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate football and business requirements into technical solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term system design
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Promote and uphold best practices in software development and deployment
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development or a related role
  • Comfortable with a full-stack environment and familiarity with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, C++, etc.
  • Experience building and maintaining production-level applications
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of features from design through deployment
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of less experienced engineers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated interest in and general understanding of football operations; formal experience is not required
