Job description

Intreped Partners and its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Systems Engineering LLC (GSE), are a HUBZone small business supporting federal, state, and military partners across the defense, energy, and environmental sectors. We partner with our clients to tackle complex, high-impact challenges that directly support national security and mission success.

GSE is seeking an Instructor/Policy Analyst to support the Defense Nuclear Weapons School (DNWS) at Kirtland AFB, NM. This full-time, on-site role is vital to advancing DNWS's training and education portfolio by integrating existing course content into novel training and education products. In addition, this candidate will support DNWS by conducting research used in the authorship of academic journals and articles, and to enhance DNWS's training and education products. The candidate will support the execution of existing courses that strengthen nuclear enterprise core competencies across the Department of War and interagency partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the DNWS Dean of Academics by conducting research on nuclear policy, national security, and the global security environment for integration within DNWS's training and education portfolio.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, presentations, research papers, and reports to diverse audiences including the DNWS cadre, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and other Department of War senior leaders.
  • Develop and deliver novel training and education products designed for DoW and interagency leaders.
  • Support the delivery and execution of existing courses by providing lectures to large audiences from the DoW and Interagency on topics including nuclear weapons in national security, nuclear proliferation, the history and development of the nation's nuclear enterprise, and other related topics.
  • Advise the DNWS Nuclear Enterprise Division Chief on training and education product lifecycle management and resource management.
  • Contribute to a culture of academic excellence by integrating best practices, industry standards, and peer-reviewed research into DNWS's portfolio, and by sharing knowledge with other national security training and education entities.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify and develop new audiences for DNWS training and education delivery.

Required Qualifications (Senior):

  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., national security, international relations, policy studies, or strategic studies) with over 10 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 15 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience in national security, strategy, joint planning, analysis, and assessments within the Defense or Federal Government sectors.
  • Active DoW Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce polished, client-ready documentation and briefings, and to deliver comprehensive written and oral reports.
  • Experience in research, writing, and analysis with the ability to develop professional reports, briefings, and policy-relevant documents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Understanding of policies governing the United States Nuclear Enterprise.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with DTRA, DOE/NNSA, a Combatant Command, or another nuclear enterprise-focused military or government organization.
  • Published authorship of academic research, journal articles, or executive-level briefings and assessments.

Location:

Kirtland AFB, NM (full-time, on-site position).

Work Conditions:

This full-time position requires on-site presence at DNWS's Kirtland AFB location. The candidate may be required to travel in support of training and education delivery, including both domestic and international travel. Travel is not expected to exceed 20% of total work time.
