Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Security Control Assessor Representative to support a company focused on delivering mission-critical cybersecurity and national security solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. This position is 100% on-site in Arlington, VA. The Senior Security Control Assessor Representative will lead independent risk assessments, advise Authorizing Officials, and ensure secure, compliant authorization of advanced AI/ML and data-driven mission systems. This role directly supports the protection of national security systems and enables trusted decision-making across high-impact DoD missions. Responsibilities for the Senior Security Control Assessor Representative include: * Provide independent risk determinations and recommendations to Authorizing Officials in support of ATO decisions
* Lead and execute RMF-based security assessments, including SAPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and authorization packages
* Advise senior DoD leadership, Program Managers, and AOs on system risk posture and authorization outcomes
* Evaluate system architectures, enterprise networks, and cloud environments for security impact and compliance
* Support continuous monitoring, Ongoing Authorization (OVL), and agile/DevSecOps authorization processes Required Qualifications for the Senior Security Control Assessor Representative include: * 10+ years of cybersecurity experience with senior-level RMF, assessment, or GRC responsibilities
* Expert knowledge of DoD RMF, NIST frameworks, STIGs, FedRAMP, and cloud security models (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Strong skills in system architecture analysis, networking fundamentals, risk assessment, and technical writing
* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field * Active TS clearance (SCI eligible) and active IAT/IAM Level II certification Compensation for the Senior Security Control Assessor Representative include: * Salary Range: $140,000-$180,000 depending on experience
