Job description

Senior Medical Scribe
About OrthoArizona:
At OrthoArizona, we are bringing the best together. Our organization was created to help serve ALL orthopedic and podiatry needs throughout the Valley! We have a wide range of orthopedic surgeons and mid-level providers including physical and occupational therapists.
Today we are one of Arizona’s largest privately owned and most comprehensive orthopedic practices with more than 75 locally and nationally renowned providers across 30 locations, in addition to 2 ambulatory surgical centers and in house state of the art MRI capabilities. At OrthoArizona we are committed to best-in-class patient care, being a pioneer in research and technology, and most importantly, rewarding and recognizing our employees.
As a Senior Medical Scribe with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
  • Work alongside physicians and mid-levels and transcribe all patient encounters accurately and record them correctly in the EMR
  • Type detailed notes, including History of Present Illness (HPI), physical examinations, imaging dictations, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Perform data entry and input correct diagnosis codes as well as input office visit orders into the EMR per the direction of the Physician.
  • Provide scribe coverage at other clinics within the region for callouts and other planned paid time off.
  • Act as the primary trainer for all new hires, mentor and train all scribes on any process improvement measures, and updated company policy and procedures.
  • Provide basic administrative duties for physicians and mid-levels.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Accurate typing skills, minimum 50 words per minute.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field.
  • Working knowledge of skeletal anatomy.
