Senior Sales Representative

The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for driving new and renewal business within UnitedHealthcare small business, with a primary focus on HSA, FSA, and related consumer directed benefit solutions. This role partners closely with UnitedHealthcare small business sales, medical, and specialty teams to expand the Optum Financial presence within employer accounts and support long term growth strategies.

This position operates within a centralized sales model, supporting both centralized and decentralized markets, and plays a key role in helping employers with under 100 eligible lives maximize the value of their benefit offerings.

This is a hybrid role and for all hires in the Minneapolis area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drive new sales and renewal opportunities for Optum Financial products, including HSA, FSA, and related consumer financial solutions, within UHC aligned employer accounts
  • Partner closely with UnitedHealthcare small business sales teams to identify growth opportunities and embed Optum Financial solutions within medical and specialty benefit discussions
  • Manage a geographic and healthplan-focused market, a portfolio of assigned accounts, serving as a trusted consultant to brokers and internal partners
  • Support centralized sales efforts by acting as the SME and point of contact for small business sales efforts for both centralized and decentralized SB sales whole streamlining key account activities from field based UHC sales teams
  • Collaborate with internal Optum teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from sale through implementation
  • Identify opportunities to expand wallet share within existing employer relationships
  • Participate in sales strategy discussions, pipeline reviews, and forecasting activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions in CRM systems
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline health, account activity, and sales performance

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development
  • 1+ years of experience selling employee benefits, financial services, or healthcare related products
  • 1+ years of experience working in a matrixed, cross functional environment
  • 1+ years of consultative skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Intermediate proficiency using CRM systems (ex. Salesforce)
  • Proven excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Driver's License and access to reliable transportation for travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with or alongside UnitedHealthcare or large health plan partners
  • Experience supporting small business and middle market employer segments
  • Knowledge of HSA, FSA, or consumer directed healthcare products
  • Prior success in a centralized or hybrid sales model

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $50,000 to $115,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
