What would you do as our Programmer Analyst?
You will design, develop, write, modify and implement software solutions consisting of applications and/or components. This role supports installations, assists with business discovery, and follows specifications and guidelines to deliver solutions while maintaining clear documentation. You will stay current on development methods and technologies, helping refine team standards and practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
You will also:
  • Develop and/or provide software solutions to the business in accordance with established specifications, and considerate of IT priorities, follow a process similar to the following;
  • Assist in requirements gathering by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
  • Determine operational feasibility by analyzing problem definition, requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Work with Business Analysts, Project managers, Stakeholders, and other team members.
  • Follow work instructions, procedures and established standards in coding and delivering the identified solution on time and on budget
  • Document and test the solution, and assist with end user training as required
  • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
  • Maintain existing software systems, identify and correct software defects.
  • Assist to the Infrastructure team as needed.
  • Be available to fulfill assigned "on call" duties.
  • Develop work instructions, procedures, and coding standards as needed.
  • Consult closely with team lead and business management related to projects, milestones & tasks.
  • Function in a team environment.
  • Maintain a customer-oriented mindset, and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Function autonomously, adjust hours of work, priorities and assignments as required to complete assigned projects.
  • Stay current on emerging technology, constantly seek to expand skill set and request necessary training to augment these objectives.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

The skills and experience you need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in with requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Previous experience using tools like ILE RPG, OS400, SQL, and DB2 Databases.
  • Experience with Agile Development / Agile Project Management, Java, XML, HTML5 and Rational is a plus.
  • Able to follow written, oral and diagrammed instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write detailed reports, instructions and correspondence.
