Job description

Want to help Earth's most customer-centric company design, implement and monitor risk mitigation strategies to improve the customer experience and protect Amazon's brand?
In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's global transportation businesses to build strategic initiatives and frameworks that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver / provider eligibility, and safety standards. You will be expected to understand laws and regulations applicable to the Amazon transportation network, assess effectiveness of existing risk and control concepts, and propose innovative mitigation strategies that enable business success. You must clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to senior leadership, and will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to design workflows in support of risk-reduction activities.

You will set program objectives, assign appropriate metrics that measure success, and drive business changes that reduce risk. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, legal, tech, and field operations teams to implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Proficient in establishing and managing regulatory intake and tracking systems to systematically capture, prioritize, and monitor incoming global transportation regulations, while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to assess impact, determine implementation requirements, and drive timely responses through structured project management tools.
- Ability to define, develop, and implement risk programs and deploy iterative improvements quantified with metrics.
- Adept at leading, monitoring, and driving projects through to on-time completion.
- Develop integration of advanced technologies strategy for AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies to enhance risk detection and mitigation capabilities.
- Skilled at establishing successful partnerships (collaboratively and transparently) with senior business leadership, legal, and technology teams to ensure alignment between core business priorities and transportation compliance risk strategies.
- Skilled at maintaining awareness of emerging regulatory trends to proactively anticipate compliance requirements.
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of the operational processes, risk landscapes, and control environments impacting global transportation compliance programs.
- Demonstrable excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills using data and insights to drive both tactical and strategic business decisions.

The Senior Risk Manager will leverage their their experience in risk management, execution of risk assessments, knowledge of labor and employment laws, and insight into industry regulations and standards to develop mitigation strategies that influence Amazon's transportation businesses throughout all phases of their lifecycle
