Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Construction & Remediation group is hiring an Estimator/Construction Project Coordinator.

 The position is a full-time permanent position for a self-motivated, energetic, and organized individual to become trained in various aspects of our day-to-day operations related to cost estimating, project coordination, oversight of activities, resolving issues, reporting, team support, and other duties as assigned.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports Senior Estimator in the development of cost estimates for bids and proposals.
  • Assists with scope definition/WBS development.
  • Performs quantity take-offs.
  • Identifies and drafts bidder queries/requests for clarification.
  • Prepares and issues Requests for Quotation to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Receives and evaluates vendor quotations.
  • Liaises with Construction Management to coordinate constructability, scheduling and project execution inputs for cost estimates. Assists with estimate development, schedule development, cash flow analysis and risk analysis.
  • Identifies and drafts technical qualifications for bid.
  • Participates in internal and external estimate reviews.
  • Assists with handover of successful bid from estimating team to execution team.
  • Coordination: communicates, organizes, and coordinates between all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Planning/Executing: organizes, schedules, coordinates, initiates upcoming project work.
  • Budgeting: understands and maintains budgets and forecasts.
  • Scheduling: understands, reviews, tracks progress, and communicates progress to managers and team members.
  • Procurement: initiates subcontracts and purchase orders, reviews payment certificates/invoices and works with procurement, management and team members.
  • Technical: works with project personnel; reviews and understands project drawings and specifications; drafts and understand technical project documents and contract correspondence.
  • Tracking: supports managers and project teams in organizing, performing, tracking and reporting project activities.  Tracks all manner of project statistics and information. Organize, save, and report information to managers and team members. 
  • Change Management:  reviews and evaluates all aspects of estimates, contract scope changes or extra work orders.
  • Invoicing: understands contract payment structure, draft invoices for review by management.
  • Quality Management: understands, participates in quality management system.
  • Meetings: plans and organizes project meetings and events.
  • Administrative: organization and administrative duties as required.
  • Represents Wood to clients, subcontracts, suppliers, and other internal groups.
Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma in Business Administration, or Construction Management. 
  • 5+ years in Estimating and capital costs for projects
  • Proficient with Cost Control, Planning and Scheduling fundamentals
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a coordination/administration/management position, in the construction industry.
  • High organizational skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Advanced proficiency with Excel, Scheduling/project management software.  Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and Primavera P6 are not essential but would be considered an asset.
  • Eligibility to obtain Federal Government Reliability Clearance Certificate
