To thrive as a Senior Risk Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a solid grasp of risk assessment methodologies, and typically a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Proficiency with risk management software, data analysis tools like Excel, and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel III or SOX is often required.
