Summary:


The Rigger is responsible for safely attaching, securing, and guiding loads for lifting and moving materials and equipment using cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices. Provides support for new and existing work within the business line. Personnel will be providing bolt-up assembly for structural components in a fabrication facility; individuals may be required to work outside. Rigger levels (I, II, and III) are assigned based on experience, skill level, and certifications in accordance with company progression standards.

Responsibilities (All levels):

  • Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities.
  • Will be required to visually inspect and receive material in all-weather condition.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects.
  • Selects equipment, figures layout assembly, and installation.
  • Selects equipment, lay out, positions, aligns, and fits components together for installation.
  • Works under immediate supervision.

Education and Experience:


  • Education and/or experience are equal to a 1-year certificate from college or technical school.
  • Must possess mathematical skills, reasoning ability, and ability to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Entry level to advanced related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience based on the progression schedule below.
  • Rigger I (Entry Level)

1-2years rigging experience and construction /industrial experience.

  • Rigger II (Intermediate)
  • 3-5 years rigging experience and construction /industrial experience.
  • Rigger III (Senior)

5-8 years rigging experience and construction /industrial experience with NCCER Certification.
