Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer to serve as the primary hands-on developer across our Salesforce environments. This is a senior individual contributor role with real influence over platform architecture, technical direction, and solution design. You will work daily inside Salesforce, writing code and building solutions, while also shaping how the platform evolves to support Bigges SalesPro platform a custom-built Salesforce environment supporting crane rental, sales, and field operations across 20+ branches nationwide.
This role reports to the Director of Business Systems and Strategy and contributes to platform architecture decisions alongside senior technical stakeholders. You will carry significant technical ownership and operate with a high degree of autonomy. The right person brings deep development expertise, a forward-looking approach to platform design, and the judgment to know when to build, when to configure, and when to push back.
The position is based in Houston, TX on a hybrid in-office and remote schedule.
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain Apex classes, triggers, and batch jobs with a strong command of governor limits, order of execution, and bulkification.
- Build and maintain Lightning Web Components using wire methods, reactive properties, and Lightning Data Service.
- Work confidently within Visualforce and classic Salesforce architecture patterns, including legacy orgs with existing technical debt.
- Design and implement declarative automation using Flows, validation rules, and process logic, applying good judgment on when code is and isn't the right answer.
- Identify and resolve performance issues including tightly coupled automation, record locking, and inefficient SOQL patterns.
- Manage source-driven development using Git and Salesforce DX, including branching strategies, sandbox management, and CI/CD deployment pipelines via Azure DevOps.
- Configure and maintain the Salesforce security model including permission sets, sharing rules, role hierarchy, and field-level security.
- Implement custom objects, fields, relationships, and page layouts to support evolving business requirements.
- Support integrations with external systems including a proprietary ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, LinkSquares (contract management), and other operational platforms, maintaining clean data and clear system boundaries.
- Enforce data quality standards including deduplication, intake validation, and governance compliance.
- Stay current on Salesforce platform releases and proactively surface relevant capabilities that advance the platform roadmap.
- Build and maintain working relationships with sales leadership and end users across sales, operations, and branch leadership.
- Build and configure Slack integrations and Slackbots to automate business workflows, surface Salesforce data, and support internal team communications.
- Design and implement AI-powered features using Salesforce Agentforce, Einstein Copilot, and Prompt Builder; integrate external AI/LLM APIs where applicable and stay current on the Salesforce AI roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Salesforce development experience with Apex and LWC as primary, daily-use skills.
- Demonstrated ability to own technical direction on a Salesforce platform end-to-end, from solution design through delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in classic Visualforce architecture and legacy org
- Deep understanding of governor limits, order of execution, bulkification, and performance tuning in complex, heavily customized environments.
- Proficient in source-driven development with Git and SFDX; hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation required.
- Strong command of the Salesforce security model: profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and role hierarchy.
- Comfortable working in agile 2-week sprints in Azure DevOps, including backlog grooming, story pointing, and sprint planning.
- Platform Developer I Platform Developer II or Architect track credentials strongly preferred.
- Must be located in Houston, TX or willing to Hybrid schedule required.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce AI tools including Agentforce, Einstein Copilot, and Prompt Builder; familiarity with integrating external LLM/AI APIs from Apex or named credentials preferred.
- Experience building and deploying Slack integrations and Slackbots for enterprise business workflows; knowledge of the Slack API and Bolt framework a plus.
