What is a senior ranch worker?

Senior Ranch Workers are experienced professionals responsible for overseeing daily operations on a ranch. They manage livestock, supervise other workers, maintain equipment, and ensure that the ranch runs efficiently and safely. In addition to hands-on tasks, they often handle planning, record-keeping, and may coordinate with veterinarians, suppliers, and ranch owners. Their extensive experience allows them to handle complex situations and train less experienced staff.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior ranch worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Ranch Worker, you need extensive experience in livestock handling, equipment operation, land management, and often a background in agriculture or animal science. Familiarity with ranch management software, fencing tools, and heavy machinery, as well as certifications such as pesticide application or livestock health, is frequently required. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are vital soft skills for managing teams and responding to unpredictable ranch challenges. These competencies are crucial for ensuring ranch productivity, animal welfare, and efficient daily operations in a dynamic environment.

What are some common challenges faced by senior ranch workers, and how can they be effectively managed?

Senior Ranch Workers often encounter challenges such as unpredictable weather, livestock health issues, and managing a diverse team. Effective communication, planning, and adaptability are crucial for overcoming these obstacles. Collaborating closely with veterinarians, staying updated on the latest ranching practices, and fostering a strong team environment help ensure smooth daily operations and long-term ranch success.

Who we are
At Golf Ranch, we're in love with the game of golf and we're on a mission to make it more accessible, more fun, and way less formal. We pride ourselves on creating spaces that buzz with energy - where competition and connection go hand in hand, and everyone feels like they belong.
Working here means joining a team that brings passion and pride to every shift. We back each other up, celebrate wins big and small, and stay focused on creating unforgettable guest experiences.
Ready to work where good vibes and great people come standard? Apply today and come be part of the team that's changing the game!
Who you are
The Sales & Service Lead is a senior front-of-house team member and a trusted presence on the floor. This role requires someone confident, guest-focused, and comfortable taking ownership - whether that means coaching teammates, handling elevated guest needs, or driving sales conversations with ease.
Our ideal candidate doesn't require constant direction to make an impact. This person knows how to read a room, support a team in motion, and lead by example. If you're excited to be part of a leadership pipeline and ready to contribute from day one, we'd love to learn more about you!
What you'll do
Guest Experience & Sales Leadership
  • Set the standard for exceptional hospitality, service recovery, and brand-aligned guest interactions
  • Confidently guide guests through memberships, events, and on-site offerings with an emphasis on Deep Connection & Infectious Enthusiasm
  • Step in to support complex or high-touch guest situations with professionalism and care
  • Reinforce sales and service best practices in real time during busy shifts

Team Leadership & Training
  • Support onboarding and training for new Sales & Service Specialists through hands-on coaching and shadowing as a certified trainer
  • Serve as a trusted peer who provides clear direction and feedback to junior team members during shifts
  • Help hold the line on expectations around professionalism, guest experience, and operational standards
  • Partner with managers by escalating issues clearly and constructively when needed

Events & Experience Support
  • Support leagues, group outings, and private events - from setup through execution and wrap-up
  • Assist with event-related sales conversations and guest handoffs
  • Serve as a steady, reliable point of contact during events to ensure smooth execution and a polished guest experience

MOD Operations & Shift Execution
  • Serve as the leader on shift by setting the tone for each shift, setting the standard, and leading from the front
  • Address all guest needs, emphasizing top-tier hospitality, and modeling Golf Ranch standards for the rest of the team
  • Support opening and closing duties, guide on-site execution of daily tasks, and ensure checklists and reporting are complete and thorough
  • Look through the lens of opportunity while leading a shift and communicate key updates, improvements, or business needs to site management

Requirements
What you'll need
  • 1-3+ years of experience in hospitality, guest services, retail, events, or a similar environment
  • Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with guests
  • Experience in point-of-sale, booking, or CRM software
  • Comfort executing SOPs while multitasking and leading in a fast-paced setting
  • Schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Bonus Points
  • Passion for golf, sports, or community-driven experiences
  • Customer service or retail experience, ideally in hospitality, recreation, or entertainment
  • Previous experience as a lead, trainer, or shift-level supervisor

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, and interact with guests for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, and set up items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, including outdoors in varying weather conditions

These points highlight the core parts of the job, but day-to-day duties may shift. We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations so team members of all abilities can succeed.
