Job description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking an HR Manager of Employee Relations to join our Human Resources department. The HR Manager of Employee Relations leads the employee relations function and partners with leaders and team members to promote a positive, consistent, and values-aligned work environment; oversees employee relations matters, investigations, corrective action, and performance management processes; and leads staff recognition events and engagement initiatives that strengthen workplace culture. The role collaborates closely with the People & Culture team to ensure HR practices are compliant, responsive, and aligned with The Buckeye Ranch’s mission, vision, and values.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the organization’s employee relations approach by ensuring team members receive clear, respectful, and positive communication aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization and coordinated with leadership and other partners.
  • Serve as a senior resource to all levels of management and staff on employee-related issues; provide guidance to the Employee Relations Partner and ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Consult with employment attorney on sensitive or high-risk employee relation issues, investigations, disciplinary actions, and litigation-related matters when appropriate ensuring compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and to mitigate organizational risk in employee relation matters.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, performance improvement plans, and corrective actions.
  • Lead employee recognition programs, including Spirit Awards, anniversary awards, and related recognition efforts, in partnership with HR, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the organization’s Unemployment compensation program and claims through OBES.

Who you are:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • You have five years of relevant HR working experience, preferably with advising on complex employee issues.
  • Your preferably have an active PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification.
  • You have an active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
